Cartoonist Notes
My first Kraken comic. I love the Kraken and hope I can think of more scenarios for him. I just love a good hugger and the Kraken is an expert. Just look at those purple tentacles reaching out to grab hold and squeeze. The Kraken is that mythical beast of immense proportions ready to attack sailors and whales. We now know that giant squids are real. At first they were only known when they chanced to wash up on shore but now with the use of underwater cameras and deep diving research submarines we can see the giant squid in real life. If you don't believe me, just Google "giant squid" and take a look at all the cool footage. http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/curiosity/videos/first-video-of-a-giant-squid.htm
Squid is a food source to some whales so all those old seafaring stories of whales battling giant squid may be real. Whales can dive deep enough to find the squid and if the whale needed to surface for air, sailors might have seen the two goliaths battling it out. Now maybe there were Kraken size squids about, which is to say, squids the size of a aircraft carrier. There is no proof of that. Imagine that you were a Greek sailor or a Viking on a small vessel and a giant squid stopped by for a possible meal. I bet that giant squid would seem even bigger than they normally are. Then let a sailor tell the story and oh boy, now you have a Kraken sized tale!
