Submitted to "Comix Warriors" Week #34: Mystery - http://comixwarriors.tumblr.com/
"Submissions open from 05/21/14 - 05/27/14, due at 11:59pm EST. Not sure of the time? Check the countdown timer on the blog’s main page!
Mysteries are so mysterious, aren’t they? And interesting. They make for a lovely plot for tv, movies, books and…you guessed it, comics! This week, your challenge to create a comic with a little touch of mystery to it. I leave it up to you to determine if you’re more of a Sherlock Holmes, CSI, House M.D. or Scooby Doo type of mystery solver."
It took me a while to think of a comic idea with a mystery theme to submit for Comix Warriors. I had in my mind a hard boiled styled detective but I couldn't come up with the correct scenario that was in any way humorous in my mind. I always loved the "Noir" look and definately wanted a black and white theme to show a bit which is why the Detective is in all grey and black. What would Noir be without a lovely lady. The detective is on the case for his client, Mrs. Kublowski who has lost her facial cleanser. The plot thickens.
This is also the second use of a larger panel to add more detail. My first comics were drawn on a 5 x 4" panel and this and the "Surf" panel were drawn on a 7 x 4 1/2" panel.
